Dynamics 365 and Power Apps 2024 release wave 1 summary

At the end of January, Microsoft announced that it had published the Dynamics 365 and Power Apps 2024 release wave 1 plan, which will begin rolling out in April and be completed in September.  

 

This is always exciting news, as we know from past years how serious Microsoft is at delivering value and innovation for its users. Every year, the release wave delivers many enhancements and new features that make our lives easier. And this year, they haven’t disappointed.  

 

In their words: “This release reinforces our dedication to developing applications and experiences that contribute value to roles by dismantling barriers between data, insights, and individuals. This wave introduces diverse enhancements across various business applications, emphasizing improved user experiences, productivity, innovative app development and automation, and advanced AI capabilities.” 

 

Dynamics 365 Release Wave enhancements

Here is a summary of the goodies that will begin rolling out next month in relation to Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Apps: 

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales  

The forthcoming enhancements are set to improve productivity and empower organisations through ‘open configurability and expanded generative AI leadership’.

  • Microsoft Copilot for Sales  

Microsoft’s generative AI capabilities will be enhanced further, plus features on Outlook and Microsoft Teams mobile apps will help sellers on the go. 

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Service  

Greater efficiency is the continuing theme with filtering response verification, diagnostic tools for admins and agents, and usability improvements to multi-session apps. As well as improvements to voice channel. 

 

Microsoft Power Platform enhancements

Microsoft Power Apps  

Copilot integration will accelerate app development with AI and natural language enhancing user reasoning and data insights in custom apps. Users will also benefit from greater simplification when it comes to creating modern apps. 

All, in all, for a range of products that already pack a punch, these further enhancements will deliver cutting edge technology, which can only serve to help them gain that competitive edge and drive efficiency and effectiveness across their commercial areas of the business.
